We started Fíor Construction Services Limited in 2017 having been encouraged by a number of people who we had worked for that they would support our efforts to create a better type of Quantity Surveying practice for them to deal with.

The name Fíor comes from the Irish for ‘Truth’ which is how we have always dealt with people in the Construction industry. It is by being truthful to our clients that we yield the best results.

We are great believers in the Einstein quotation.

‘Whoever is careless with the truth in small matters cannot be trusted with important matters’

A client must know when dealing with a Quantity Surveyor that their advice on the smallest matter is as considered as that for the largest issue they may have.

By consistently being truthful we can save our clients a lot of unnecessary cost.

The work with these contractors results in our being able to provide both pre and post contract services in a variety of sectors covering both new build and refurbishment including civil engineering, heritage contracts, commercial, retail, healthcare, education, and high rise residential.

We have provided services since commencing Fíor to several satisfied clients in the last few years Styles & Wood, Wates Construction, Bowmer & Kirkland, PL Civil Engineering, Kinder Interiors Limited, B&J Decorators Limited & Bouygues to name a few.

Our Director Noel Kenny has nearly 30 years’ experience working in the Construction Industry having worked in both the UK and Ireland for sub-contractors and several leading main contractors such as Laing, Taylor Woodrow, Stewart Construction, Wates & Miller Construction in senior roles within the organisations.

‘When Bouygues Construction required an experienced Quantity Surveyor to finalise a £10m sub-contract on our Lightbox Project colleagues who had worked with Noel at Wates Construction recommended that he was the ideal candidate for such an undertaking. Although only a short term commission Noel set out timelines for the finalisation of the account and went about working through all the written correspondence, drawing changes etc detailing why aspects of the sub-contractor claim could be either omitted in line with the scope, terms and conditions of the sub-contract or due entitlement existed. This extensive piece of work enabled Bouygues to reach an agreement in line with the overall projected figures of the project. Having produced such an extensive piece of work for one account it was agreed to extend the commission and make use of Noels skills to manage several other large value key sub-contracts. His attention to detail, accuracy, and ability to mentor some of the younger members of the staff made him an invaluable part of the team. He continued to provide services to The Lightbox Project Team and worked tirelessly on assisting the business in their tender opportunities including a successful tender for a city centre Hotel Scheme prior to Bouygues closing their North West Construction Operations.

If you need someone, I recommend him unreservedly to you.’

‘I have known Noel for a number of years and always found him to be a man of his word and of the utmost integrity. We know if we ring him he will always afford us time to discuss matters and advise accordingly. He has proved invaluable to us in the last year guiding us through some difficult accounts and procedures which ultimately enabled us to achieve the commercial results on the projects we hoped for. He has always represented incredible value for money as far as we are concerned.’

‘When Bowmer & Kirkland required a Quantity Surveyor to provide both management and procurement services for the final push for  our Hotel Indigo Project we recruited  Noel (through his company) via an agency based on recommendations from members of our Senior team. He did not disappoint immersing himself in the project to ensure key fit out works were procured and packages successfully commercially managed. He produced consistently accurate work understanding the key drivers and interfaces of the project. His in-depth knowledge of the North West Market even lead to the bringing of new sub-contractors to our supply chain to assist on both this and further Projects. We were fortunate to be able to use this knowledge on procurement matters for another of our key projects at 2 New Bailey Square where he took on the procurement of a both technically and commercially challenging underground car park waterproofing package as well as procuring several other key packages too. I myself and Bowmer & Kirkland  would not hesitate to utilise his services again.’
